Download Errors - Missing Files, Blocked Saves, and Browser Fixes
Fix problems where converted files do not download, save incorrectly, or open as the wrong type.
Why didn't my file download after conversion?
Your browser may have blocked the download, the tab may have lost permission, or a popup/download setting may be interfering. Check the browser's downloads panel first.
Why does the file download with the wrong extension?
This usually means the browser guessed a name incorrectly or the download handler used a fallback file name. Re-downloading after a refresh often fixes it.
Why does my browser warn that the file may be unsafe?
Browsers can warn on unfamiliar file types, ZIP archives, or multiple downloads from one site. That warning is usually about download behavior, not proof that the file is malicious.
Why does the file open as text instead of the target format?
That usually means the generated file content and file extension do not match. It can also happen if a fallback response was downloaded instead of the real converted file.
Where do converted files save by default?
Most browsers save into your Downloads folder unless you changed the preference. Some browsers may ask every time if you enabled that setting.
How do I avoid blocked downloads?
Allow downloads for the site, disable aggressive popup blockers for the session, and avoid starting too many downloads at the same time.
