GIF Conversion Errors - Animation, Frame, and Quality Fixes
Fix GIF conversion problems including lost animation, bad frame timing, oversized files, and static output.
Why did my GIF become static?
Many output formats do not support animation. If the target format is JPG or PNG, only a single frame may be exported unless you explicitly convert frames separately.
Why is my converted GIF huge?
Animated GIFs are often very inefficient compared with video formats. MP4 or WebM usually produce much smaller animated output than GIF.
Why do GIF colors look limited?
GIF uses a restricted color palette. Complex gradients and photos often look banded or dithered because the format simply cannot store as many colors as PNG or JPG.
Why is the GIF animation speed wrong?
Some tools interpret frame delay metadata differently. If timing matters, test the output in multiple viewers or use a video format instead.
What is the best replacement for GIF animation?
For web and modern playback, MP4 or WebM usually give better quality and much smaller files than GIF.
Should I use GIF for still images?
Usually no. GIF is mostly useful for simple animation. PNG and JPG are better choices for static images.
